He is a film producer by trade with writing and directing experience, and the former CEO of West One Entertainment. Since 2012, he has produced 11 feature films ranging from micro-budget to £10m productions, as well as 22 short films. He has learned the business from the inside out — from development and finance through to production and release. Along the way, he has been fortunate enough to see projects recognised at major festivals, including a nomination for the Michael Powell Award at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. At heart, though, he is just someone who loves stories — especially the strange, epic and impossible ones. Fantasy has always been his escape and his fuel, which is why he launched KIRBY Fantasy Magazine: a space dedicated to short stories and flash fiction that celebrate bold worldbuilding and fresh voices. The first issue goes live in summer 2026, and he is excited to bring together writers who believe, as he does, that the imagination of ordinary folk deserves a platform.
